The start-ups Carbominer and Soletair Power are among the many small companies racing to create technology capable of capturing carbon dioxide (CO2), in order to aid the goal of achieving net-zero emissions.
Carbominer’s device is still in development, but is designed to capture 46 tonnes of CO2 per year, and Soletair Power has installed its carbon capture technology in buildings in Germany and Finland, enabling it to capture tens of kilos of CO2 per day. The technology captures CO2 from the air, which is then used in a range of industries, including agriculture, building and manufacturing.
